CIRCUITO VALLE DE COCORA

TOUR DETAILS

TOUR DESCRIPTION

The tour begins in Cocora Valley at 2,400 meters above sea level, where we will discover different ecosystems and the area’s characteristic biodiversity. Along the trail through the cloud forest, we will encounter the majestic wax palms, Colombia’s iconic national tree.

We will also pass by the remains of ancient indigenous tombs belonging to the Quimbaya culture and visit an old native tree that has witnessed the many changes this area has undergone as a result of agriculture and other activities in the region.

We will then enter the renowned Acaime Natural Reserve, known as the home of the hummingbirds. Here, we will enjoy a traditional drink and snacks while observing the activity of the birds and other wildlife that visit this magical place. We will also have the opportunity to discover some of the secrets preserved by time and learn about the natural evolution of this unique environment.

On our way back to the valley, we will follow a trail along the banks of the San José River, a charming mountain tributary. We will cross the river several times using suspension bridges, adding a touch of adventure to the experience.
